Bacon Avocado Ranch Bunless Burger

Guys, burger season is almost here! The smell of the grill, the charcoal lines, they just ooze summer. Always this time of year I can't help myself but try out tons of new burger combinations...mostly to have an excuse to eat more burgers.

Tonight's combo is one of my favorites. Is there anything better than bacon, avocado and ranch together? On a sandwich, on a pizza and now, on an epic bunless burger.

Bacon Avocado Ranch Bunless Burgers (serves 2)

  • For the burger
    • 16 oz lean ground beef
    • 2 T Worstershire sauce
    • 1 t garlic powder
    • Salt and pepper
  • For the homemade "ranch"
    • 1/4 c mayonnaise
    • The juice of 1 lime
    • 1 t garlic powder
    • 1/4 c finely chopped cilantro
    • Salt and pepper
  • To serve
    • 4 slices bacon
    • 1 avocado, sliced
    • 1 T chopped cilantro
    • A few kale leaves

First, make the burgers. Mix together all of the ingredients until well combined. Divide into 4 even parts and flatten into very thin, wide patties. Leave out to come to room temperature, about 20 minutes.

In the mean time make the ranch by combining all ingredients in a bowl.

First cook the bacon in a nonstick pan over medium heat. Remove into a plate with a paper towel to dry. In the same pan, add the burgers and cook for 1.5 minutes per side.

To construct the burger, put one patty on the plate. Top with some kale, sliced avocado, bacon and ranch, then put a second patty on top. Repeat with the other two patties.
