Maple-Soy Glazed Salmon
Salmon is one of my favorite quick and easy dinners, and this maple-soy glaze kicks it up about a million notches. The sauce comes together in literally 30 seconds, and cooking the salmon start to finish in less than 10 minutes. In the end, this is the perfect protein to serve with your favorite Asian-y sides, such as rice, stir fried veggies, or even some delish veggie fried rice.
Maple-Soy Glazed Salmon (serves 2)
For the glaze
2 T soy sauce
1 T maple syrup
1 T rice vinegar
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 t ground ginger
1/2 t Sriracha sauce
1 t sesame seeds
1 t corn starch
3 T water
For the salmon
2 salmon filets
Salt and pepper
1 T olive oil
Preheat oven to 400*.
First, make the glaze. Combine the cornstarch and water in a small bowl, mixing well. Set aside.
Then, combine the soy sauce, maple syrup, vinegar, sriracha, garlic, ginger and sesame seeds in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until starting to simmer.
Once simmering, reduce the heat to low and add the cornstarch mixture. Stir constantly until the sauce thickens, then remove from heat.
Heat the olive oil in an oven proof pan. When hot, add the salmon and sear on 1 side (non-skin side down, if there’s skin) for 3-4 minutes. Carefully flip, spread the glaze on top, and place the whole skillet into the oven until the salmon is cooked through, about 3-5 more minutes. Serve with your favorite sides.
