Raspberry Jam Doughnuts

Do you love warm, sugary doughnuts bursting with delicious raspberry jam? Do you have 20 minutes?

Be warned, my friends, this recipe is so easy and delicious it's oh so dangerous. Don't question it - just make them and bask in the glory.

Recipe adapted from Serious Eats

Raspberry Jam Doughnuts

  • 1 tube of refrigerated biscuits
  • 8 c vegetable oil
  • 1 c granulated sugar
  • 1 jar raspberry jam

Heat the vegetable oil in a dutch oven or skillet until 350* (oil should be at least 2" high). Set oven to 350 degrees. Place sugar on a plate.

Pop the biscuit container. Add the biscuits to the oil, a couple at a time, and fry for ~2 minutes or until golden brown on one side. Flip to the other side and fry for 2 more minutes. Remove and immediately dip into the sugar, making sure all sides are coated. Place onto a baking tray.

When you've fried an sugared all of the doughnuts, place them in the oven for 10 minutes or until the dough is completely cooked through the middle. Remove and let cool slightly.

While the doughnuts are baking, take a pastry bag and add the raspberry jam. When the doughnuts are still warm but cool enough to handle, pipe about 2T into the middle of each doughnut from the side.

Enjoy the taste of heaven.
